Foggy day

Today is one of those days that is so typical for this area – fog. It just sits there, gloomy as ever. And I find my thoughts swirling about, just like the fog. And gloomy, just like the fog. Such as, today marks one month ago today that my step-son died from a drug overdose. Another gloomy thought, this tragedy that has occured at Virginia Tech. Makes me wonder what this world is coming to. And how much longer it can possibly go on in this same vein. Surely Christ Jesus is coming soon…

Thought I would share some poems on – you guessed it -fog! I can’t take credit for these poems. The first one is written by Carl Sandburg and is simply titled, Fog:

The fog comes

on little cat feet.

It sits looking

over harbor and city

on silent hanches

and then, moves on.

How about this Haiku poem by James Hackett:

A heavy night fog

has so silenced the city,

each light seems a friend.
