Give God your mouth

It’s a conscious effort – a choice – to everyday give God our mouths. How often do we stop and think about how we’re talking to others? Especially those loved ones we live in the same house with. Those ones that we find so easy to dump all our dirt on when we’ve had a crummy day or are in a bad mood or just plain ole’ don’t feel like talking nice. But…every word we say makes a difference. In our life and in theirs. Are we speaking words of love or walking in the flesh and just saying whatever we feel like? How many marriages are ripped apart just by words? I challenge you (and myself) to ask the Lord to take charge of your mouth. The devil will be happy to take over – it’s time to tell him to take a hike.

Ephesians 4:29 (amp) Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk (ever) come out of your mouth, but only such (speech) as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God’s favor) to those who hear it.
